1977 Annual Goebel Hummel Plate – Mint Condition
MI Hummel Figurine Collectible Apple Tree Boy 4"
You can't really afford to miss out on this superb Hummel figurine, Apple Tree Boy. Made of porcelain in West Germany, it depicts a little boy sitting in an apple tree, along with a bluebird. This genuine M.I. Hummel design was crafted, based on the artwork of the celebrated artist, Maria Innocentia Hummel, by the W. Geobel Company. The Apple Tree Boy series was initially designed in 1940 by the master sculptor, Arthur Moeller, and the Last Bee marking on the base of this Hummel figurine, indicates that it was crafted between 1972 and 1979. The figurine is 4" tall and 2.25" wide, and is in excellent condition, and has no chips, cracks, or crazing. The figurine also has the Goebel back stamp as well as the signature of Maria Innocentia Hummel, and includes the original label.

Buying Hummel Figurines Online
Purchasing a Hummel figurine online is often a bit unnerving, be sure to check certain information before buying. Is the figurine or plate back stamped with the official Hummel stamp? Does it come in the original box with a certificate of authenticity? If you are buying just as a decorative accent, these things may not be as important, but to a collector these are vital! Be sure to always read or ask for the dimensions, because the size does matter. In some cases, the smaller figurine is more valuable then the larger, or the reverse. Often there are the original figures, and then later "inspired" editions. Both are treasures, but be sure you are purchasing the one you want! I would want to know if this is from a personal collection or if the item is brand new. Hummels will range in price from a few dollars to hundreds - each one is a work of art & will be sure to inspire.
