Adorable 1986 Hummel Annual Plate, Mint, In Original Box!
This popular plate, dated 1986 and entitled “Playmates”, is 16th in the Goebel/ Hummel 25-plate annual series. Made of porcelain, it measures approximately 7 ½” in diameter. This Hummel plate is in mint condition and even comes with the original box. In bas relief, is a chubby-cheeked, smiling little boy. Atop his playfully tousled brown hair, rests a green alpine hat, with a feather jauntily sticking up from an orange flower on its brim. Only the tied ends of an orange scarf are visible around his neck, matching the flower in color. The boy’s dark green jacket, white shirt and light green pants complete his ensemble.
You can readily see that he is at ease, happily sitting in the grass with beautiful orange flowers around him. The cherubic boy holds at his side a brown basket carrying two darling white rabbits. Being carefully held with his left arm, so it doesn’t escape, is a third creamy-white rabbit. The date “1986” is in large red numerals, underneath the child. The famous Hummel signature is set into the plate, curving around the scene and the name of the company is stamped on the back.
